Alice M. Huynh in three words: All black everything. But to be fair, it would not do her justice to just describe her in three words. She might be a lover of the colour black but there's so much more to say about her and luckily I have a whole blog post to do so. Alice describes herself as a "dreamer, young fashion designer and blogger from Germany with roots in Vietnam and China". When you explore her blog I heart Alice you will quickly notice that she has something truly unique about her. With the rising amount of fashion and lifestyle bloggers it seems more and more difficult to come across those that really differentiate themselves - Alice is definitely one of them!
I would personally describe Alice's style as minimalist, classy with a twist... and black. Even though this might not immediately seem to find a perfect fit with the colourful fashion accessories of ABURY, the outcome of our photo shooting is marvellous! After all, Alice's style, the direction of her blog and her authentic character indicate that good quality, ethical awareness and craftsmanship are indispensable. And who said that even though we love colours we don't also love a good old all black everything look?!
Alice's First ABURY Look: Material Mix
During our photo shooting Alice combined her favourite ABURY accessories with three outfits of her choice. For the first outfit she combined her black-in-black culottes and lace dress with our dark green raffia slippers and a black hand embroidered Lovebirds clutch. Silk meets lace meets raffia meets leather meets material mix at its best!
"Women who wear black lead colourful lives." I love this quote (found on Alice's Blog I heart Alice) and it just fits so wonderfully. Because Alice's colourful spirit is contagious! Especially when she starts talking about her passion for good food she will most likely not stop talking for a while, which can only make you smile.
Alice's Second ABURY Look: Fashion in the Matrix
"This girl knows what she's doing!", is what our photographer Suzy kept saying when Alice started posing, flowing from classic model poses into futuristic slow motion movements that reminded me of the Matrix.
For her second ABURY look Alice combined her elegant outfit with an all-black ABURY Mini Berber Bag. And in addition to that she showed us a new way to style our tagua bracelets: For this outfit she spiced up the wide sleeves of her blouse with a black tagua bracelet on each wrist. Did I mention this girl had a unique style?!
Alice's Third ABURY Look: Do I see Colour Splashes?
In her third outfit Alice added some patterns - one could even say she added colour: Two splashes of turquoise on her feet to spice up her beautiful black two-piece outfit! I love the minimalistic approach and combination of geometrical patterns paired with soft and light materials dancing with Alice's movements.
Her outfit consists of our black hard sole babouches with turquoise tassels and Dhaatu, one of our peace silk scarves, handmade in India.
...and if you are located in the same climate zone as me right now, in love with the babouches, but wondering how you could possibly go outside with bare feet and not freeze... Well, they're also wonderful feet companions indoors!
