Some Milestones on our Way
2011
The Berber Bag and ABURY
An old Berber bag inspired Andrea to found ABURY, with the goal of empowering women in Morocco and fighting against unemployment and illiteracy.
2012
Start of the first Production
ABURY opens a school for young women in Marrakech, where they learn traditional leather embroidery from master artisans—and begins its first production at the same time.
2014
ABURY Showroom in Berlin
With great passion and love, we opened the first ABURY showroom on Kastanienallee in Berlin. Since 2020, we’ve focused on pop-ups and events.
2015
Traumfrauen - The Movie
Yes—our golden Berber bag is made for extraordinary women. We’re thrilled and grateful for its special role in the film of the same name!
2017
Dorothee Schumacher x ABURY
With Dorothee Schumacher’s support, women in the Berber village of Douar Anzal weave unique Berber rugs. These adorn showrooms and provide a steady income.
2016-2019
ABURY Design Experience
The ABURY Design Experience is an international contest connecting emerging designers with traditional artisans to create unique, handcrafted accessory collections.

Corona Time
We’ve used this time to realign and refocus. And with Britt, Heike, and Petra, we’ve quadrupled our power and passion.
