But cocccon has decided to allow all three stages of the silkworm and conduct an entirely biological and non-cruel process of silk production. The trees where caterpillars live are for example covered with a large net to protect them from their natural enemies. They transform into cocoons and finally, the hatched butterfly is released back into its natural habitat, left in peace. This is why cocccon proudly refers to its used material as peace silk.
The talented artisans cocccon works with, weave different types of silk scarves: handloom scarves and printed silk scarves that are handmade in India. The handloom scarf is designed with geometric patterns and different colours flowing together. From animal print to abstract shapes, every handloom scarf has a unique design. The printed silk scarf reminds of colourful mandalas typical for India. The ink that is used for the process is biodegradable and also suitable for infants.
