ABURY without Berber Bag is like you without your loved ones, like spring without sunshine, like Berlin without the Brandenburg Gate – there would be something missing! The traditional Moroccan Berber Bag, the Vintage Bag, inspired our founder, Andrea Bury, to start our label, ABURY. When Andrea lived in Morocco, she was fascinated by the Moroccan Berber Bag and the cultural heritage and magical stories it carried – and started to collect the Berber Leather Bags at different markets. You can find these original Berber Bags in our store at the Vintage Bag section.
This was the beginning of a wonderful journey. We started to work together with skilled Moroccan artisans and young designers. The result is what you can see here: We proudly present the ABURY Berber Collection! Main ingredients: goat leather, cactus silk embroidery and a lot of talent, diligence and love! Our signature piece is the Berber Bag, modelled after the moroccan original, but we have expanded the collection in all forms, colours and sizes!
The Leather Clutch Bags are a wonderful companion for a night out. Next to the Berber Leather Clutch Bags, we have also designed wedding clutches for your special day! The perfect fair trade Bag for a city stroll is the Mini Crossbody Bag. The bags are available in a wide range of colours and some of them are equipped with cactus silk embroidery in another colour – turquoise and orange or yellow and rosé? We have a Mini Crossbody Bag for every outfit!
We also designed smaller leather goods: small wallets, coin pouches and business card holders – all of them handmade from genuine goat leather and with cactus silk embroidery. They might be smaller than the other items of the berber collection, but they are equally elegant, practical and have a social impact! All our Fair Trade Bags are handmade with love. The artisans use genuine goat leather tanned in different colours for the Berber Leather Bags. The cactus silk embroidery is diligently applied and makes the Leather Clutch Bags, Mini Crossbody Bags and Berber Leather Bags extra special. By purchasing a Moroccan Berber Bag or another item from the Berber Collection, you can help the artisans and their families to live better lives. Our mission at ABURY is to give back education and women empowerment to the crafts communities we work with.
